Today I'm making necklaces for a new restaurant opening in Zichron Ya'akov called "ADAMA". Each waitress will be wearing one. I love to see the "Before" and "After" of a jewelry.

Yesterday I saw a T.V. show with Anthony Hopkins and he said a great sentence I really loved-
"Today is the tomorrow I was so worried about yesterday."
Sounds complicated, but, it's so simple…

This necklace was designed when I was pregnant.
I guess I was full of anxiety, and I felt I had to protect myself with all kinds of accessories to put ward off bad luck, also because many people think they can just touch your belly because you are pregnant. I wore it with a very long necklace so that the pendant was close to my bellybutton.
So yes, it's not your ordinary Hamsa, with the upside down hand, it's my hamsa. It's a little hidden in the ornaments and it's combined with the eye, set with an amazing gem, the Topaz. I find the hiding charming, I remember seeing an old Jewish pendant that had a "star of David" hidden in it, from a time Jews couldn't wear the star in public.
The symmetric design is challenging, and the actual work is like a puzzle, you have to match all the pieces together.
The red of the Ruby adds a lot of life to the jewelry, and contrasts with the topaz.

These Emerald earrings were made simply to honor and frame the gem stone.
There is Jewelry with a great concept, or with a specific look and style, and there is jewelry that comes from the material, like here, from the green Emeralds.
The setting holds the gem with 4 hooks, with a gentle contour of gold underneath.
I like small and delicate earrings, added to a beautiful stone, makes the job right.

The idea for this design came to me after a trip in Europe.
You always end up with a lot of coins from these trips that you have nothing to do with. If you look, these coins have beautiful imprints on them, of kings and queens, flowers and historical motifs.
I found the right coin and decided to combine it with a "Seal" ring. A massive ring that can't be overlooked.
I love using Ready-Made in my work. Combining it with my design, with it creating something new, giving it a new context, a different use from its original use. The genius who did it first was of course- Marcel Duchamp with the toilet bowl, wow, this guy had some balls…
Eventually, the design is homogeneous, with a twist, a wink, just as I like.

This one, I made for Noy. He wanted a "Seal" ring, like the kings used to seal their letters in wax.
Noy is a Typographer and a big admirer of the Hebrew letters. He asked for the letter "Alef" to be on the top. The letter "Alef" is the first letter in Hebrew and it's is very symbolic, it symbolizes a beginning, love, and in the KABALA it also symbolizes God since it holds all the letters of the name of God.
The challenge was in creating the imprint of the letter on the ring, to make it like the original font, so it wouldn't look "painted". The contrast between the bright color of the silver and the letter came out after I made the blackening with acid. This way it looks like old letters of 'relief printing', which is totally cool.
The design is classic but the addition of the "Alef" gives an interesting twist.

This ring is very sensual. Its round and feminine with a silky texture that softens the natural hardness of the silver, it becomes thicker and thicker, to where it breaks, in a red Ruby, that is wrapped in a delicate "nipple" of silver.
I designed this ring to wear on the pinky finger, not only because its very fashionable now, also because its sensual statement, better at least make it small in the size, so its not too vulgar.

This ring, symbolizes the beauty of a mistake.
You can sit and design a piece of Jewelry, sketch it, illustrate it in a few angles, but eventually you can't predict the final result. I learned to love and adore this mistake, that haunts our creation. It reminds us to stay spontaneous and put the sketch aside once we start to work.
It was supposed to be a "television" ring, like a "seal" ring, with a folded stone holder, done roughly. Somehow the folding became the mistake, a mistake that "made" the ring. The side walls of the ring collapsed inward and created a wavy feeling, like you took its air out…
So yes, I got furious at first, but then I saw the beauty of it.
The ring was created in a very complicated method, making it hollow. The green gem and the golden stone holder make a royal and antique look, the polish is between mat and bright.

This collection was made with a lot of sentiment and love.
It all began with my mother, who immigrated to Israel from Morocco when she was 5 years old, and from all the loot the family had, Jewelry was the only thing they could bring with them. My mother got one necklace that I remember from childhood, it's made of links of gold, with beautiful ornaments and detail, like the Yemenite Jewelry (genius!!!) – Filigran. The necklace was very dear to my mom, it was one of the only things she had from her mother, that's why we were all heart broken when it was stolen from our house. People don't understand the sentimental value jewelry has, so much more than the value of the Gold, it's like a part of us given from one generation to the other.
My mother's sister helped heal the wound when she gave her one of the same necklace she had. It all happened 15 years or so ago and it's an idea I always carried with me, to take the essence of that necklace design and create one of my own, an interpretation, one no one could steal from us.
All in all, this collection is clean, modern, Yet with a Moroccan scent from my ancestors.
This collection was designed for the "Jovella" exhibition 2008, took place in Tel Aviv.

Noy and I met in Bezalel, studying Visual Communication. We were in class together, and started dating in the second semester of the first (!) year. I focused on Illustration, he on Typography and graphic design. Looking back, these years in Jerusalem were of the best in my life.
Noy wanted a simple looking ring. And him, as other boys, wanted the ring to "do" something, other than being a ring. So I designed the "play ring", Its made from 2 rings, one revolving around the other, fun to spin around with your fingers.
For my ring, I went looking in fabric stores for a nice lace that might inspire me. I love an antique look and the emotions it brings, of history and family.
I went with red Gold for my ring's antique concept, moreover, because of the technique I used the ring came out with many holes and flaws which I decided to leave on, I thought it was charming, like I found the ring in an archeological dig or something…
For Noy's ring I chose the White "Champagne" Gold, and the hammering on the ring added to his masculine hands and to a more "used", rugged look.
Our wedding was really magical, in Old Jaffa, in an Arabic architecture house. It was very intimate and emotional.

I designed these rings for Iris and Oran.
Iris wanted a massive ring and Oran loved the idea and wanted a male version of the same.
Usually guys want a simpler more solid design. I have a fantasy that one day a guy would ask me for a crazy ring in 22k Gold.
After we discussed the designs, and Iris and Oran were about to leave, they mentioned, "one more thing, we will be flying to Berlin in three weeks, and we want the rings before leaving."
The challenge in this design was to make the ring comfortable, for the finger and for the wallet…Therefore, the ring had to be hollow, and the polishing had to be very bright.
I always start with the girl's ring, its usually more challenging, and I love a lot of Gold…

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to the wedding, but I felt a part of me was there, with them.

I designed these rings for Waxman and Tali, our most outgoing friends, "The Good Living Channel" kind of people.
Waxman is Noy's friend from the army. They have many stories from back then…
Tali is a beautiful girl, and when I saw her slim fingers I knew she needed a delicate and special ring.
She wanted a design that would repeat all around the ring. Waxman wanted a ring like the one I made for Noy, I call it, a "play ring"- It's made from 2 rings, one revolving around the other and it's fun to spin around with your fingers.
I enjoyed making Tali's ring, it was challenging to make the waves- equal and constant, I love the lacy look of the ring.
The best part of this work was when they took us to a Japanese Restaurant and we ate and drank a-l-o-t. Noy and I felt again like the young outgoing couple we used to be before little Jasmine came to our lives.
The wedding was beautiful, on the beach in Cesarea, the food was amazing and there was a guest performance of Shlomi Saranga.
